About the Dog Hut

We love our dogs and like you, we understand that your dog is a special member of your family.

We took our dog, Dooley, to doggie daycare as a puppy and saw how she loved playing with the other dogs, how fit she was from all of the playtime and how tired she was when she came home!

In 2011, the Taylor family had the opportunity to open our own daycare. Brendan co-owns the business with his parents, Cathie and Emerson. He manages the business, but he still keeps up his dog handling skills by working shifts in the playrooms. Brendan’s wife Jamie also works with the dogs and handles administrative duties. Kyle and Lauren Taylor are both teachers but help out at The Dog Hut during school breaks. Finally, you will often see Brendan and Jamie’s three kids at the Hut - they are our future play group leaders with the dogs!

Dooley the Labradoodle at the Dog Hut

Dooley

Dooley is a twelve year old Labradoodle who is settling into her senior years. She still is an avid ball chaser both in the yard and in the lake and after retrieving the ball, loves to shake her wet coat on anyone near her! She is a sweet girl who wants nothing more than our complete and undivided love and attention at all times. Of course, she gets it most of the time!

Pippin, the Taylor family boxer

Pippin

Pippin was a Boxer stray who was picked up by a police officer and dropped off at the Green County Humane Society. He was skittish and malnourished and could not be put with other dogs without wanting to fight them which made the staff think he had been used as a bait dog for fights. When he saw Kyle, it was love at first sight for both of them. Kyle named him Pippin after the pure-hearted hobbit from Lord of the Rings. Lauren joined their family six years later and now mom and Pip do just about everything together. The happy ending to the story is Pippin now plays with the other Taylor dogs. He finally has friends!

Dublin, the Taylor family dog

Dublin

Dublin is a four year old adopted Shih Tzu and Jack Russell mix who’s full of energy and spunk. Dublin was just four months old when we adopted her, and once she was able to let loose, there has been no stopping her! She enjoys running fast, playing ball and snuggling with her sister Claire or any human near-by. She could not be a sweeter companion to spend our days with!

Claire, the yellow lab

Claire

Claire is a ten your old Yellow Lab who is still young at heart and lives to show affection and loyalty to her friends and family. Claire started coming to The Dog Hut shortly after we opened when she was just 8 weeks old.  She welcomes all visitors, and there isn’t one pup or person she can’t get along with!  She is always up for playing, napping or eating - a real go with the flow spirit. We have been very blessed to have Claire in our family!

Pearl

Pearl is our newest family addition and we could not love her more! She is an eight month old white Lab and is the happiest go lucky pup. You will always find Pearl in the mood for eating, playing or chasing the ball. She greets all of our Hut pups early in the morning and enjoys her days in daycare tagging along with Dad. She is very sweet, easy going and growing too fast!
